The Museum

The Museum of Veterinary Sciences consists of two sections:

- the first, dedicated to the history of veterinary medicine, illustrated through scientific and surgical instruments, books, documents

- the second, the parasitological and anatomo-pathological one, better known as "Museo Perroncito", named after the professor who dedicated himself to the construction of the collection of parasites.

In 2017, the Museum of Veterinary Sciences joined the University Museum System, as "associated museum",   became an institutional member of the National Scientific Museums Association (ANMS) and  the headquarters of the Italian Association of History of Veterinary Medicine and Farriery (A.I.S.Me.Ve.M.), with which it collaborates for the organization of seminars, exhibitions and conferences.

For third mission activities, such as guided visits and particular initiatives aimed at communicating science, the Museum supports the research of scholars, at local and national level.

More details about Museum collections are available in the History section.
